When I first got my computer, the only
thing I knew how to do was turn it on, literally. How I got familiar with
everything was by going through everything and deleting important files
and crashing my computer not once, but four times before I finally got
used to everything.
How else is one supposed to learn without anyone's help? Yes, I took
it upon myself to teach myself everything there is about software, and
what files are needed to make your computer run. Now I don't touch those
files because I know what they're used for.
What I started doing was going through all of the options and preferences
once I installed a piece of software. This way your options will always
be set every time you run the program.
Just like in your browser or email program, there's always help files
etc., at the top of the program. All you have to do is look at the top
and go through each option you come to. If you don't know what it's
for, there's usually a help button next to it.
Or you can just open the help files that come with the program. Usually
every software program comes with help files. Use them, they work.
Most people don't even use half of the options that come with their
software because they don't even know about them. This will help you familiarize
yourself with your software so you can take full advantage of its use.
You'll be amazed at all of the hidden options
you had no clue were even in there once you start doing this.
Don't let it intimidate you, I didn't. Get to know your software and
you'll wonder why you didn't do this before.
