I could have thrown in the towel a thousand
times in the last 5+ years, but I didn't. That would just make it to easy
and besides, then what would I do I asked myself.
I didn't have an answer then and I still don't. What I'm doing now is
really the only thing I've ever loved, and that is helping other people.
We all get obstacles that try and get in our way, but we always have
other options when something happens to us no matter what it is. These
are what I like to call our trying times. Like something is trying to see
if we can make it through it or not. If we can, then we should have learned
a lesson from it. If we don't make it through it, then it probably will
happen to us again.
Life is a big circle that keeps spinning around and around. We either
change something or we leave it alone and it never changes. When we give
something we receive something. Give good get good, give bad and you get
bad back. It's a big circle and it will always stay the same until we do
something to change it.
People want us to quit. Our friends and families don't want to see us
succeed. At least that's how it is for most of us who try and become self
employed. I don't know why, but people seem to hate to see people succeed,
especially if they aren't successful themselves.
We all need someone who will support us in our decisions and it doesn't
matter who you get it from, as long as you get it. Whether you have someone
who you talk to through email, a friend, a mentor, just someone who will
support you in your decisions and give you good advice.
In the end, you'll be supporting each other and that is always a great
thing to have. It's very uplifting to check my email in the morning and
read some emails from my friends on the internet. They're my colleagues
but they're my friends too, and we all support each other which really
makes it something to look forward to everyday.
We work our butts off to build our businesses so why someone can just
call it quits is beyond me. Then what are you going to do, build another
business? How are you going to do that when your first business didn't
work? Do you know why it didn't work? These are things people need to be
aware of before they even think about starting something new. It's like
jumping from program to program but you've never really succeeded with
the first one, but you're still joining everything that comes along. You
can say you're giving up on the last program you joined the moment you join
something new, because you totally lose focus of it.
I know, I used to do that too. You have to find that one thing that
really, really sparks your interest and that's the one you put all of your
attention on and leave everything else alone. If something isn't working
then change it, or get out of it, but don't keep wasting your money on
things that aren't working for you because all that will do is get you
broke. Focus on what you want and forget everything else for the time being.
By all means, don't call it quits. There's a million options for us and
we need to start putting them to use. If you have questions then ask them.
Who do you ask you might say? Hmmmm...Publishers are a good place to start.
Do you have a favorite publisher? That's the one you need to get in touch
with, because publishers really are your best friends and they're always
willing to help anyone who asks.
It's just to easy to quit, so don't you do it!
All the best,
Audra
