Five years before I got my computer, I was looking
for something that I could do from my home. I searched
and got scammed I can't tell you how many times. I'm
not afraid to admit it because it happens to most of
us. As they say live and learn.:)
Anyway, I just knew that I wanted to be self employed.
I've always worked my hardest no matter what kind of
job I had. Telemarketing was my last job outside of the
home and it was that job that made me realize that I Can
work for myself and make it. How? Because it was straight
commission that I was making. I wasn't getting paid by the
hour, but by the sale and that's what started my thinking.
So one day I was looking in the classifieds in my newspaper,
and that's when I started seeing those get paid to stuff
envelope ads. UGH, How they make me sick because so many
people fall for those. Even my neighbor and I tried to warn
him, but he found out for himself unfortunately, just like
I did. I even showed him what it is because I saved that
junk just to show others what a scam they are, and he still
bought into it. I can only do so much.:)
Ok, so that turned out to be junk. Next, I sent away to
make earrings. Yeah right! It took an hour to make one
earring! Not a pair, but one. No way I could make their
quota every month to get paid. I just had my baby girl
so my time was limited even more so back then. I couldn't
find the right beads for them either so that was out.
Of course they make it hard to find the right material. LOL
Next on the line was to get paid to collect address
information from people. Nope, all that turned out to be
was to put a ad in my local paper, people respond with
a SASE and I send them same people the same info I sent
in for. Now how big of a scam is that?
I even got so frustrated and went so far as I was falling
for those stupid pyramid schemes through regular mail.
Yeah, I was about at my wits end because it wasn't like I
had any money to be wasting on this junk and all of it was
worthless anyway. Now I'm back at square one again and
right now I'm about ready to pull my hair out because I
didn't want to go and get a regular job again.
You have to know me to realise that I don't get frustrated
to easy. I'm a very easy going person but when I want
something and it's taking 5+ years to get it, I was so ready
to give up and whammy, I got my first computer and the
rest is history so to speak.:)
The moral of my story is that right when I was ready to
give up, it happened for me. No, I didn't learn everything
over night, but I'm here with my own business, that's my
point. I was right near quitting and it happened, this is
the story of so many who are small business owners.
I've read that sentence over over for so long and when
I finally made it I said Yes, it was True and it Is true.
You just have to keep searching until you find that something
that gets your attention. It's your passion, whatever you
love to do is what you make a business out of.
It's a Fact that if you do what you love doing, then
you Will Succeed at it as long as you give it your all.
It wasn't easy to get here but I did it, and so can you.:)
