Just like in our family lives, if we don't have a schedule, we don't get anything done. It's just a fact of life I guess but it's true, and it definitely goes the same for business.
Look at my daily schedule:
Up at 5:30 in the morning.
Get my son up for school at 6.
I'm usually going through my email by 6:30
Get my daughter up for school at 7.
Make out my ezine and send it out. ( 2 ezines on Wednesday's)
Delete the bounces. (Takes anywhere from 15 to 45 min.)
Get the solo ad ready if there is one for that day, send it out.
Go through email again.
Help people if needed.
Reply to colleagues.
Submit to SE's once a month.
Update my ezine in the directories once a month.
Surf for more resources for my subscribers & members.
Update pages as needed.
Usually by this time it's 2:30 in the afternoon
My son gets home from school. Though he never seems to have any homework. lol
I take a break and do the dishes. (A break for the eyes.)
My daughter arrives at 3:05 (She has daily homework)
I help her with that then start making out the next days issue.
In between that, I cook dinner. It's now 5 in the afternoon. I check email again and reply as necessary, then go back to my ezine. And for some odd reason I can never get the issue complete that evening. lol I finish it in the morning after I check my email.
After dinner is done, I usually end up surfing for new products, services and resources. I need software and things just like everyone else too, so I try to find and compare to get the best ones. I look for new websites and new business opportunities too.
The kids usually eat by 5, me and hubby don't eat until 8 or 9 most nights so I stay working until then, if my eyes can take it.
Now, I use the weekends for house cleaning and the regular errands as well as family time. If I didn't have this schedule I would go insane. Look at all of that, that's a lot for one person. If you don't balance it out, it's not going to work. You'll end up getting so tired you won't
be able to do it all.
All you have to do is write down the things you do everyday. Try to start with the most important one first then work your way down. It won't always go as planned, but at least you'll have peace of mind having a schedule and knowing what to expect the next day.
All the best,
Audra
